'wii runs opera. get your facts straight dude'

wii browser still manages to be worse even though it employs opera

I understand the frustration with using the ps3 browser, streaming video from sites is a hassle. it's also too bad there's no linux support w/ slims

Although i do agree the browser leaves a lot to be desired, it does copy and paste. hold x button and drag with L3, let go and the option to copy appears. when you next go to enter text, a paste option is given in the bottom right corner of the screen keyboard.

PS3 RULES
With that said.. the browser does suck, can't even go on facebook with it. Sure you can just use your pc or laptop but isn't better to see everything on your hd plasma t.v. Can it be made better through a firmware update?

I agree. I have a Wii and I don't use its browser. I had no expectations of it on such a low power machine (see: not fanboy). I did have those expectations from the PS3.

Now, I don't care that the PS3 displays its website in hi-res. I'd rather have a working 800x640 than what it does.

1) out of memory on tons of sites. Like Delicious, which is text-only? How lame.

2) constant 'run plug-in?' nagging for Flash? OK, I allow the plug-in once, let it be. 's not like I keep my bank accounts on my PS3.

3) Why doesn't it resize to my 1080p aspect ratio, instead of occupying the center only? Other web browsers resize, no?

4) Last, but not least, no support for RadioParadise and other internet radios.

I got it to play Blu-Rays and to watch/listen to media on the web and things that don't require much typing. I figured that was a better alternative than watching YouTube on my laptop.

The PS3 works great as a Blu-Ray, but darn does it suck as a browser.

Isn't it advertised as a COMPUTER entertainment system? Anybody who says "so buy a computer" are missing the point, that's like saying my ps3 doesn't play blue-ray movies, so get a blue-ray player. Constant freezing, blank pages and no features like flash and something as basic as copy and paste, makes me wonder where the "computer" is in computer entertainment system?.

Actually, I think the Wii browser is superior... it's easier to navigate and enter data, the low res image loads faster, and it doesn't crash.

Neither one of them have enough plugins (flash, etc.) to make them practical though.
