I don’t get Capcom these days. Don’t they care what their fan-base wants? I understand it might have been too late to switch Street Fighter 4 back to its 2D roots even though many of its loyal fan-base pretty much gave up on the game, but if they’re going to announce yet another Capcom vs game, wouldn’t you think they would learn their lesson?
Apparently not. According to Famitsu, the newest VS game will be in 3D that a co-worker of mine said looked straight outta the Dreamcast era. I can’t help but agree. I guess this gives me even more of a reason to convert to SNK… For shame Capcom, for shame!
Oh well, at the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, I’ll still be following up on this one. I’m curious to see what new characters would be introduced.

I can’t blame capcom for going 3D, I’m sure you know 3D animation is mush easier then hand drawn 2D sprite animation.
Also, Marvel vs Capcom was easy for them, they just used old sprites (which was VERY noticeable on certain characters)
Does it look like dreamcast? maybe, but give me dreamcast at 60 frames per second over 360 24 frames per second anyday.

It’s true Seve, 3D is easier, but Capcom isn’t exactly short on budget. Don’t forget how many “small tweaked” versions of a game they make and then remake to make up their losses (if any).
Also, if SNK Playmore can make a 2D fighter (King of Fighters 12), then I don’t see why Capcom can’t. Bottom line, give me beautiful 2D over sloppy 3D anyday!

Still looks better than Street Fighter IV to me.
