nintendo_wii_motionplus.jpgI have to say that I am boggled at how successful Nintendo is these days. They literally gave their hardcore fans the finger with comments like “the only ppl who want hard disk space in their wii are geeks and otakus” or with this year’s E3. More and more Nintendo has been laughing in all our faces. I own a wii, and can see how it really brings in non gamers, but its NOT a next gen system and worse its controls are completely broken.

We may have excused its lack of power if we were truly able to do what they promised with the wii mote, but we can’t and in my opinion that lie was the worse we saw in this generation of consoles. Do you remember how the Red Steel commercial promised us to be really waving the sword? Or worse in Zelda where we were supposed to actually be slicing our enemies, then using the wii mote as a bow? Turns out you just had to shake the wiimote to do an attack… I would MUCH rather press a button then shake a remote aimlessly for hours…

Selling us broken dated technology should be a crime in of itself. Now we see that they may actually be able to do what they promised initially, with the motion plus add on. If it does actually work, Nintendo OWES it to all their customers for free. Why should I buy ANOTHER mini game collection to get it? And what about the fact that I have 2 wii motes? I have to buy another? Why should I pay for what was promised me originally?!?!

Could Sony have said here comes the PS3 with Blu ray, release it without it, then after 2 years decide to sell it as a separate peripheral? NO! Furthermore we may begin to see a trend where game companies will use the motion plus for their games, forcing us to buy it in order to play the newer games.

God knows that Nintendo has been making a lot of money selling its dated technology for way more than its worth. This gift wouldn’t put much of a dent in their bank accounts, and they can actually start giving back to their customers instead of screwing us more and more with crappy third party games and another collection of mini games…
