It’s been two weeks since I unwrapped SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation and rushed home excited to frag. 14 days of lag, disconnections, and other online server-related annoyances. Over 330 hours of patiently waiting for the patch that will justify my day one purchase. I believe that’s almost 20,000 minutes too many.
I’m now looking to sell my copy of SOCOM but sadly there are too many people out there trying to do the same. I would trade it in but that would most likely turn my purchase into a ridiculously expensive rental. No, I think I’ll keep waiting for the inevitable patch.
I blame myself mostly. I should have realized that something was up when I saw absolutely no early reviews for SOCOM online. I figured that an online-only game would at least get the online part working, guess I was asking for too much.
And this isn’t Sony’s only online issues. After a week long delay that could have only bought Sony more time, Little Big Planet’s online servers were turned on yesterday and were all but offline. I couldn’t join any online games, download any maps, or publish my own map for the 1 1/2 hours I tried. What’s wrong Sony? You promise free online play and decide to give gamers what they pay for?
At least with Little Big Planet, my wife and I are having a ball playing the story mode and making maps, SOCOM has been mostly collecting dust and making my collection look bigger. Either way, Sony needs to make sure their games and all of their features (ESPECIALLY online play) are up and running at launch … or maybe gamers should just follow patch dates instead of release dates.

Osama long time no see! Same issue with Socom except that i got it last week. Online play is decent enough except the guy at EB games was really pushing the headset version when i bought it. Im sorry but for an extra 20$ when i already have a headset wth! Made me feel as if he was making a commission off the sale.
I didn’t try Little Big Planet yet what im looking forward to is next month’s Valkyria Chronicles! What do you think about that one?

Hey there Rodney
It HAS been a while, how are you?
Honestly, you coulda bought the headset version then sold your headset to a friend for 20$ and made them super happy. Most bluetooth headsets now go for about 40$ so maybe you coulda even sold it at 30$ for profit?
I have no idea about Valkyrie Chronicles, but I’m gonna go read up on it now
