Before launching into “Pride (In The Name Of Love,” the band’s tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.,) Bono noted that the crowd was gathered on the mall where King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.
“Let freedom ring. On this spot where we’re standing 46 years ago Dr. King had a dream. On Tuesday, that dream comes to pass,” before launching into ‘Pride (In The Name Of Love)’, U2′s tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“This is not just an American dream,” he said, adding that it was “also an Irish dream, a European dream, an African dream… an Israeli dream… and also a Palestinian dream.”

I’m still not sold on Obama. Just because he’s black doesn’t mean he’s going to be a good president. I know it’ll take a lot to be worse than Dubya Bush, but I think people have too much hope for a politician. They’re all crooks and liars. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt but people are talking as if he’s already done so much…
I love U2 though

I have hope that Obama will be a good president, but I don’t think he deserved this huge celebration. Sure, he broke the ultimate color barrier, but why celebrate the man when he hasn’t really done much yet? The whole inauguration concert was a bit premature.

I couldn’t agree with you more Alfredo. I’m waiting to see him earn all this praise…
And just cuz McCain is white doesn’t mean he would have been a bad president. His VP is another story though
