I don't get it.

There are already tons of girls playing on x-box live playing as well XBLA games, Casual Games and shooters. When I say tons... I mean a LOT.

If you take the time to look at the girls playing X-Box Live and the Gamerchix, most of them are harassed everyday receiving an incredible amount of messages. I saw it myself when my ex girlfriend was playing GTA 4 having 4 messages per minute. How do you want girls to play? They must even hide themselves behind neutral or male gamertags looking like 13 years old guys. - 1

An important part of those girls are stuck in the state that they must prove themselves that they are as great players than boys and it freaks me out. I didn't believe it once I heard about that until I did realize it myself. They feel a constant pressure because the gaming community still think that girls playing video games are rare and not as good as guys, but in reality... it shouldn't matter and it's a misconception. It's an entertainment, not an EGO tournament, Duke Nukem is already doing that alone. - 1

In other terms, it's a matter of time. The Gaming Community must grow up. Great games are already there, it isn't the problem. That's where Sociology comes up. Games for males isn't real, tons of girls enjoy them too, it is simply like Salim sai; a matter of taste.

First of all, that woman scares me!
No, really, I'm scared. Maybe its her way of talking in absolute as if she rules the earth that freaks me out.

Aside for that, I'm amazed by how much money and time it took to simply figure out what girls need. How come we don't have to do this for boys? I personally think it could be because of the diversity in game designers. When most game designers are men from generation X, don't expect much game about relationship from them. But those designers design what they like, and people that can relate to that, buy their games. Game design is an artist process, so to me the designer should like his game and relate to it.

I think it should be the same for games aimed at little girls. You don't have to reverse-engineer the mind of a little girl to force a design that you yourself can't relate to. You just need to find the right designer.
