Osama,
Your comment on my blog was brief. On that particular blog the only mention of killing was that of one of my own Soldiers which was done by an enemy sniper. I don’t personally feel guilt for his death neccessarily. I feel I did everything I could have as the unit commander to ensure my Soldiers safety while at the same time ensuring we did our jobs. Our job by the way was to make what has turned into a horrible living experience for the Iraqi people, whom I respect and enjoyed interacting with, a better more stable environment. I will not and can not speak of what other units do but I know my unit and its intents was good and just. They wanted to make Mosul a better place by teaching and mentoring the Iraqi Police to serve their people with respect and dignity. I believe while we were there we accomplished this task.
The loss of life is tragic whenever it happens. If it is done in the deffense of inocent people and freedom I can accept it more. The only death my unit was responsible for was that of an evil person bent on destroying the freedoms of the Iraqi people.
I want our SOldiers home as soon as possible but not a day short of making sure that Iraq and its people are going to be secure. The United States may or may not have had any good reason to go into Iraq, that you and I can converse on a different level, but to leave with out ensuring they are set up for success, I am convinced would be causing greater death than if we stay.
Thank you for writing a comment, I would enjoy chatting back with you. I made several friends while I was their and enjoyed discussions with them about this topic. I am not calling us friends of course but I do enjoy a good conversation.
Thanks again

Then we’re in agreement. I apologize if I offended you with my comments. It appears I judged you by face-value and misjudged you in the process. I would very much like to continue dialogs with you. Sadly, I didn’t bookmark your blog’s address.

the blog is at two different places, blogbyanamericanpatriot.com or flash917.wordpress.com.
No apology needed. this is a very divers and controversial subject. You are of Iraq decent and have a personal connection. It is only understandable you would have such feelings.
I look forward to at least sharing my experience view of what I saw with you.
