Life

home_birthday.jpe So here we are: 1 year, 115 posts, 842 comments and 115,992 unique visitors later and we’re still alive and kicking! What can I say, as I said in the first post, I didn’t know if I had it in me to even keep up with posting on a blog, now I can’t imagine life without it :D

So what has happened in the last year in my life? My son is 11 months old today :D My loving wife is still the love of my life! I’m still a game designer and loving that and have thus far worked on 2 released games with a third on the way! I’ve rediscovered two long lost loves: Magic the Gathering and Professional Mixed Martial Arts.  Haven’t touched my “work in progress” novel at all since last year though, and I’m really disappointed about that…

lbp.jpgAs most of you have undoubtedly already known for a week now, my most anticipated game of this year has been delayed 1 week due to a couple of Qur’anic verses found within one of its songs. So Halloween is quickly approaching and many of you may be going to a Halloween party, have some sort of Halloween work related activity to participate in, and a few of you (only a few I HOPE) may even go out trick or treating. If so what are you going to be dressed as? Have you given it much thought to it or none at all? Are you one of those who spend over $100 on an outfit? Or are you like me, someone who likes to rummage through my old stuff and put something together. (more…)

akoha-logo-final-draft.jpgI was reading Rayna’s blog the other day when she mentioned this new game Akoha. What can I say, the concept behind Akoha is quite brilliant! A card game that rewards people for doing good deeds in real life? That’s awesome on so many levels!I love card games and I always talk about doing good deeds so I feel almost as if the designers of this game had me in mind all along! Rayna just gave me my starter deck on Friday and I can’t wait to get started spreading good all other the world and tracking how far my good deeds go! (more…)

ubuntu.png Back in March, I wrote about my first experience with Ubuntu. Although it was a very pleasant one, I kept my Vista installed and couldn’t convince my wife to switch over. That meant that every time I got home, Vista was running. More often than not, I’d be too lazy to boot the PC back into Ubuntu and so I just ended up using more Vista than Ubuntu.

Well that’s not entirely fair, I would sometimes boot into Vista myself to use Photoshop. I know that Ubuntu comes loaded with GIMP, its own graphic editor with features comparable to Photoshop, but I was not at all interested in learning a new graphic editor when I had a perfectly good “paid for” one that I was already proficient with.
