ipod_shuffle_image.jpgSince MP3’s, WinAmp, Napster, iPods and the like, the Music industry has been in trouble. Fewer people are buying Music CDs and more are downloading songs and albums. The Recording Industry sees declining revenues year in and year out. They’re also not the only ones complaining. Both the PC and Console game markets are seeing declines in sales due to pirating. The movie industry is trying to crack down on the number of illegal movie downloads to no avail.

I’ve been an avid reader of the Exiles comic since its first issue back in August 2001. In fact, I liked the series so much it quickly became my favorite book. I started looking forward to the Exiles more than all of my other comics combined! I’d read and re-read each book in anticipation of the next issue.

It’s not to say that this series didn’t have it’s down point. I don’t usually keep up with a change in writers when I’m enjoying a book. I always notice a change in art but that’s easy to spot, with Exiles I always noticed the change in the writing as well. I found that, early on in the series, the story felt new and exciting. It had a point and was getting to it slowly, one issue at a time. The books’ secrets were kept very well for years and kept me coming back for more!

I’ve been avoiding the whole blog thing ever since it started to pick-up speed. I’ve always loved to write but blogs felt too much like online diaries and the idea of strangers reading my most intimate opinions was too unsettling. I’ve since seen blogs to be what they truly are: an alternative news and views source to the cut-and-paste, mundane, non-sense that passes for mainstream online content these days.
