I was talking with a couple of friends the other day when a thought hit me: In Kick-Ass, an awesome  movie based on a non DC Universe comic book license, both Batman and Superman are mentioned. It got me thinking, what are the rules governing the mentioning of other trademarks within movies and TV shows? Could the next Superman movie show Clark Kent wearing Spider-Man underwear? Does it depend on whether or not Marvel would object to that or is there actually well established rules and regulations regarding this?

marveldisney

With the news that Marvel was just bought out by big brother Disney for a whopping 4 Billion dollars, one has to wonder what kind of repercussions such a buyout would bring to both companies.

lost-season-32Yesterday was a very “bitter sweet” moment for me, bitter because LOST was going to leave my life until the year 2010, and sweet, of course, because I was going to watch the season finale of LOST! khurrum_sher_idol.jpg Move over William Hung, there’s a new King of Idol in town! Yesterday’s Canadian Idol had one of the most memorable performances in my humble opinion! Khuram Sher won everyone’s hearts with his heart-felt singing and well-practiced dancing as he performed April (sic) Lavigne’s song Complicated! He made the judges explode in laughter more than once as well!

Did I mention that he’s a personal friend of mine? Yup … well stop reading and start watching already!

transformers_a_d.jpgI’ve had a lot of people complaining since I’ve installed that decal on the hood of my car (see previous post) about why I chose the Decepticons instead of the Autobots.

The main argument of those Autobots lovers is, since it’s a CAR, it had to be an Autobot. Hell no! The Decepticons have several wheeled vehicles in their line-up and the Autobots have got several ‘non-cars’ in theirs so that’s not a very valid argument (You know what? Next time I own an F-15 I’ll put an Autobot decal on it, how ’bout that?)
